(MZ1999EP) have five tracks produced in 1999, unearthed from old hard disks. This EP is a collection of electronic music experiments created during a period of youthful discovery and euphoria. The influences stem from the early ’90s Warp and Rephlex scenes, emphasized by a style that draws on esotericism and personal symbolism, never made explicit or flattened with rational explanations. These elements are masked by a deliberate parody of gabber house, which boomed whenever cars with powerful subwoofers gathered for meets. The style of these tracks is characterized by crooked synthesizers and oblique rhythms deliberately ignorant and instinctive where irony and introspection coexist without the need for stylistic coherence. 1999 EP is a small time capsule, capturing a moment when anything could still happen.
