Moonwater EP

Moonwater is the outcome of various compositional experiences from early 2012, prior to the debut album "Musil Live”, where the result was a sound that was equally close to Industrial and Concrete music.
This path partly maintains the concept of soundscape, through the revisiting of field recordings, but unlike the industrial denotation of the previous record, the theme here is the environment, the place where we live, and the nature around us.
In the track Moonwater, from which the album takes its title, the rhythm is made up of insects sounds and the noise of a falling stone in a pond, revealing a personal alternative to a more typical sythetic bass drum.
Another aspect that characterises the album is the reevaluation of sound defects, as can be heard from the voice samples in the songs, taken from old documentaries on VHS, in particular in the track Abduction you can hear random noises of radio and TV frequencies, recorded by a microphone during the test sessions.
It’s a new interpretation of sound, that comes both from nature in the field recordings as well as from the sampling of a physical mediums, like in the case of the VHS, a manipulated reality that takes a new form.
A record which doesn’t focusing on just one form of expression, but intent on exploring various styles and showing a strong sense of personality.
